Transguide Arrows (Houston, Dallas: construction, safety, moving)

I cannot remember the last time I saw the Transguide green arrows and/or red Xs to let me know the traffic is moving or not.

I travel mostly on 10 and 1604, but do not recall them on the other highways either.

Is there a reason, safety or technical, that they have chosen not to use them anymore?

The only time i have ever seen them in use is during major accidents to indicate that a lane is going to be closed up ahead.

The ones on 410 going East right before getting on I-35 are always being used.
They are red pretty much everyday during rush hour

I am convinced that Homer Simpson is sitting at the controls with his pink frosted and confetti sprinkled donut.

Beside the lane closure/open arrows, the emergency notice signs almost never indicate a traffic snarl, rather a message reads that an elderly person is missing in East Texas.

I have seen warnings on the electric signs that there will be construction in the opposite direction on the other end of town, but fail to tell you that you're about to run into construction in the direction you're going.

Are people supposed to look for that missing person while driving down the highway???

We also seem to get plenty of Amber Alerts from other places on there when boyfriends go off on armed tirades and steal their girlfriends' kids. I'm guessing it's because the fastest routes to Mexico from Houston and Dallas include the interstates that run through SA.

I would say the exact same thing,
because it's a million times for effective to show a picture of them on TV than to show some text to people driving down the highway.

Was not aware that it was an either-or type of situation aka a sucker's choice. I drive more than watch television with any local content whatsoever. I would never see these pictures of them on TV and chances are many others would not either.
