The rep in the video clip said it was going to be in the $2 per square foot range. Whew, that would make my current 933 sq ft. apartment cost over $1800 per month. Is that what she meant with that quote? Who's going to pay that?

According to Fox News at 9 last night the developer got the idea for these hideous looking buildings after traveling to Latin America and seeing how they live. Well, at least how some of them live mind you. The developer also said the area was "built to attract young professionals, retired professionals and Mexican Internationals because they are the ones who have the purchasing power". So if you do not fall into those three categories you best not be caught trying to fit into that lifestyle over there. And don't even get me started on traffic over there!!!

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Could be a huge gamble..or not. The good news is that these kinds of buildings actually help stem sprawl by making people live on top of each other, rather than spread out. The bad news is that all these people need to drive to get to work or shop.

La Cantera, The Rim, 10/1604 interchange will be more of a nightmare than they already are. Also, just wait for the construction to begin along 10 around Huebner towards Boerne Stage. AHHHH!!!!!!!!! Go out to 46 and Ralph Fair quite a bit and might have to think up a new route as to avoid that area. You're right though, could be a huge gamble. If it doesn't work at least we have a sherbert, striped colored building to look at over there.

Granted, these three groups have the $$$ for this lifestyle, but I'm wondering a little bit about the wisdom of this combination, especially whether retirees will want to live with "young professionals." And what kind of retailers (besides restaurants) will want this combination of customers living nearby?

I know if I were entering my Golden Years I wouldn't want to be surrounded by all that young craziness. Also, if I were mid 30's I wouldn't want to be surrounded by old folks. Guess we will see.....

All the senior citizens I know do not want to live in a bustling area full of traffic and commercialism like that.
