I may be moving to work in the Westover Hills area beginning in February 2011. How do I find a home rental that will allow dogs with a short commute? What are nearly new home prices in the area for a 2-3 bedroom 2 bathrrom for resale? Is this a safe area? What areas are close by for a less than 30 minute communte? Thank you, D

Hi D and welcome to SA.

I live in the Westover Hills area (Westover Forest specifically). There are several very nice neighborhoods within the boundaries of Westover Hills, and some other nice ones just outside it (to the west and northwest). Prices within Westover Hills range from around $200K to $400K, with a few properties just under $200K. I would stay away from anything east/southeast of Westover Hills...it gets sketchy.

You should be able to find a rental. I'd contact an agent in the area and lt them do the work for you. What is your budget, if you don't mind me asking?

I live over in the Creekside Subdivision. There are alot of houses for rent as well as for sale. Quiet neighborhood too I can recommend an awesome realtor that could probably help with both rental and sales. Let me know if you are interested.

Consider calling a realtor. I know you typically wouldn't think so but, as a landlords, we actually have quite a few realtors that have shown our rental property in the past. We pay them if their clients lease. It's fast and easy money for them. I would be more than happy to give you the name of our property manager (they are also realtors). They are currently helping some friends of mine find a place before they relocate to SA. Feel free to send me a DM if you would like their info.
