Just heard on the radio that CPS Energy is being required to reduce its electricity consumption by 7% to protect the state power grid. They're doing rolling brownouts of 45,000 customers at a time for 15 minutes at a time. If you're a CPS customer, your power will go out for 15 minutes this morning.

Other power utilities in the state are affected, too.

Even if it doesn't affect your house, it might affect traffic lights on your way to work. Treat 'em as a 4-way stop.

Still waiting for mine. The Valero less than a mile away (Culebra) went down just as I was leaving so I was sure I was next. They need to hurry up since I work from home. It's keeping me from getting into anything.

There's a lot I could say about taxes and rolling blackouts in the middle of an Artic blast (20F in San Antonio) but I'll leave at that.

Now I don't hate the St. Louis electrical (Ameren) company so much.

I was at Spectrum gym this morning and they shut down the electric in the middle of my bench press. Ouch. I couldn't see anything and I couldn't put the barbell back on the rack, lol.

It didn't faze anyone else, though. I could hear grunting and I could see silhouettes of some people curling dumb bells. It started getting really cold in there, though.

Was watching the news blurb and footage on tv this morn. Maybe just my lateral brain at work but...didn't anyone think to have someone directing traffic at major intersections?
