Does anyone know what's up with the massive amounts of birds at the Tezel/Culebra/Grissom intersection (right by HEB)? It's weird how many of them there are just hanging out and they don't go much further than just that intersection.

They are grackles, just waiting for food. They tend to congregate near fast-food joints. Hey, they gotta eat, too.

They are kind of scary, though. Too many of anything is creepy.

They are also bad over in the medical center, by Wurzbach and Babcock.

It is my theory that HEB lured the birds to that area so as to generate business for the new car wash they opened on that corner.

They're always at several intersections around town this time of year. Naco and O'Conner is another bad one. They'll be gone by spring.

hehe, thanks. It just seemed odd (and kind of creepy) to me, so now I know.

One of the WORST intersections is 410 and Marbach...all the fast food places have it looking like something right out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie!

Downtown at Durango from Santa Rosa til ~ Flores. There are no fast food joints there, but it's like a scene from Hitchcock at certain times of the year. They also used to be like that at SFBR (where the monkeys are).

Default Birds are still there

I still see the birds at the Culebra/Tezel/Grissom intersection. They are there when I pass through on the way to work and in the evening on the way home. They are loud and it is really creepy.

Oh wow, so true. The grackles and their magical poop machine! No wonder HEB has a car wash at that location.
