Is anyone having trouble with their dishwasher? (Bandera: mover, pricing)

I've been using the cascade liquid with dawn and haven't had any problems. I was having problems with cascade powder.

nice suggestions! i'm going to have to try some of these.

i had noticed that even with jet dry i would get scummy residue on some dishes. i ended up omitting the drying cycle completely for a combination of air drying and hand drying. gets me to put the dishes away in a timely manner anyway, and use less energy i suppose.

Here is the main culprit to your cloudy dishes........In July 2010 16-17 States banned Phosphates in Dishwasher Detergent. Some States required that it be reduced. There are many articles about this on the internet.
We were bombarded with calls and after some research we found /read about the Phosphate removal / reduction or decrease. Phosphates act to soften hard water.
As others have metioned the two best soaps out there are Finish and Cascade Complete. Use a drying agent like Jet Dry or Lemi-Shine. Use the air dry feature on your dishwasher, try to find a detergent with higher Phosphate levels. Or......although you use more water you can hand wash them.
Please Please Please Don't do like many Folks have done...which is to buy a new dishwasher. They have a fancier model at a fancier price, but the same ole cloudiness.
I guess our dishes have now been introduced to the Going Green Phase.

I will definitely pick up some lemonade this week at the grocery store and give it a try. We use 1/2 c. or so of vinegar each time we run the dishwasher and it works like a charm for us. In the beginning we dumped in a gallon or so to get everything clean/going again. The lemonade, I'm sure, smells better-so I'm game.

I had the same problem. I Googled the problem, and found an overwhelming response to try Lemi Shine. It is available at Wal Mart for 3.69 a jar. I let it soak overnight in my dishwasher, per instructions, and was shocked to see colors other than white in there again. You can also use it when you wash dishes, and it works GREAT. Try the Lemi Shine. No more milky looking glasses and silverware!

Lemi Shine is a great product!! A bit expensive but well worth it.

I buy it at Walmart in the laundry soap aisle. It's usually near the section with bleach and stain removers, rather than with the regular laundry detergents. It's a box of powder, the one I've got now is white with a green band at the top and bottom.
