Scuba Steve, although I love Pepsi, I can not remember if i liked Crystal Pepsi(I probably did). I do remember the drink from looking at the picture. I do know that I did not like that Pepsi Blue or Blue Pepsi(whatever it was called).

The clear wasn't bad, but there was something about a clear cola that didn't sit well with most. Probably one of those "that's not how it's done" things that are very hard to overcome.

the blue was just disgusting and needed to die faster than it did

Somebody mentioned Dublin Dr. Pepper. Is that available locally? I'd be interested in getting some, if it really is the original Dr. Pepper formula of long ago. What they call Dr. Pepper now just doesn't taste right!

Central Market carries it.

We have DP with sugar here in Charleston FWIW. I'm honestly not sure if there's any tangible difference between normal (sugar rather than HFCS) DP and the Dublin kind...?

the HEB brand version of DP has real sugar, so does their cola.

So with the increasing availability of soda with sugar (I'm guessing pre mid-1970s formulas being used?) does anyone see this taking over the HFCS versions? I'm sure sales have to be telling the manufacturers something here, because I keep bringing this stuff to parties and people grab it before anything else.

That was me Lee W. Dublin Dr. Pepper is the original 1885 version of Dr. Pepper. The Dublin, Texas bottling plant has been distributing the original version since 1891. Just go to www.drpepper.com and you can link to it on the Dr. Pepper home page. It is available just about everywhere Dr. pepper is sold.

I didn't find it on that site...unless I did something wrong somehow. There's a separate site I found for the Dublin Dr. Pepper plant in Dublin, but it only tells how to order by mail or pick it up in the town of Dublin and makes it sound like they only sell it in that area. Really, Dr. Pepper hasn't tasted like the original for many years. Not just the High Fructose Corn Syrup taste....it's something else they changed sometime! I not only haven't seen it in stores, but hadn't even heard of it until it was mentioned here.
