Wow - part of the new parking garage collapsed yesterday, and not a word here about it?!??

To me this is VERY serious - there's something screaming "sloppy" (at very least) about a structure that can't stay intact so early in construction. Obviously, lots to be looked at - but geez, folks - at least get it BUILT first!

The preliminary reports say it was failure in a concrete pillar. I am begining to wonder if they will have to knock the rest of the project down and start over?

If there are problems, it seems that it would be better to find it during construction, not after it's finished. Sounds like the low bidder won the contract and may be cutting corners on ....or prehaps not qualified to do the job.

Hope the contractor is found at fault so UHS isn't out the funding. Lord knows they need it elsewhere.

Very surprising there is very little local coverage of this story.

The contractors appear to be Zachry Construction and Vaughn Construction. Both very reputable and large construction companies. Somethings amuck

Yeah, well, it wasn't exactly a parking garage that collapsed. It was a few concrete pillars that were next to the garage. No idea what was planned for those pillars but those guys have got a lot of work ahead of them....
