We are a family of 5 with 15, 13 and 10 year old children. We have not been to San Antonio before and we have a 3 night visit scheduled over Spring Break week next week.

Planning on Riverwalk, Alamo and maybe Sea World. What else should we plan on?

Restaurants we may like to visit: Mi Tierra for mexican, County line for ribs, Schilo's deli, Lula's, The Copper Kitchen Cafe, Gunther House. Others we should not miss?

I can 't seem to find discount for Sea World for a day visit for less than $47.50 per ticket. Plus parking, plus food. Is it worth it? During Spring Break, will the crowds be awful? We will be going mid week either W or Th most likely.

Thanks!

SeaWorld is nice and well worth it, but it's going to be crazy busy next week. You definitely don't have to worry about having the park to yourself...
As far as those places to eat, I've never ate at any of them and I've lived here for almost 10 years. I personally can't really think of anywhere here where you have to eat. There's some OK food, but nothing like I have where I'm from.

Love Shilos so that's a big thumbs up from me.

Also Seaworld does allow you bring food into the park, if that's something you desire to do it can save you some money.

Good luck and have fun!

Good suggestion. Save your money and bring your own food if you can. The food there is way overpriced for the quality (except for the funnel cakes if they still have them )

The funnel cakes are very good and I wish there was a way to get them without visiting the park. Definitely one of those foods you have to eat on the spot, though.

BTW, for the OP, you do know there's a 6 Flags here as well, right? I'd personally take that one over SeaWorld, the Alamo, and the River Walk combined, but I love roller coasters..

Yes, there is also Six Flags fiesta Texas out on Interstate 10 North as you head toward Boerne. At at the County Line downtown years ago with my sister.Nothing to brag about as far as we were concerned.Never been toSchilo's or Mi Terra. For me Lockhart,Tx. has really good bbq.You might check out the San Antonio Zoo and the San Antonio Botanical Garden. They have kid activities some time. Outside of San Antonio on the northeast side is the little town of Bracken. The bracken Cafe has good burgers and quite popular. Not much for kids to do on the Riverwalk but walk around. Rivercenter Mall near the Alamo has a couple of movie theatres, and across the street is the Ripley's Believe It or Not .Also, up in Fredricksburg is the Chester A.Nimitz Museum of the Pacific on the grounds of his family's hotel.I don't know if schlitterbahn in New Braunfels is open yet. This water park has been featured on the Travel channel. You might check their website out. Not sure how crowded Fiesta Texas or Sea World would be.Schlitterbahn will be crowded in the summer, but not now if it's open. They have a website I'm sure. Also there is one for the City of New Braunfels too. Also, there is a free magazine you can pick up at the hotel or elsewhere with things to do for kids and such in San Antonio you can check out when you get here.

I suggest doing something better- fiesta texas, parks, etc.
Did you know that the whales are fed antacids and antidepressants? They are swimming in something the size of the bathtub compared to what they should be swimming in- the ocean.
Do something humane- don't support SeaWorld.
This isn't some emotional thing I am trying to tell people- these are facts. Keeping it real here.

San Antonio has a lot to offer for a family spring break trip. Yes, you'll have crowds, but so will most other places. As mentioned above, there are many places to visit - Seaworld, 6 Flags, Alamo, museums, the Riverwalk, the missions, quaint towns, etc. You and your kids won't be bored!

Alot of schools around here are on spring break next week...we were gonna do Sea World as well, but might hold off a few weeks and we are gonna check out the SA Zoo instead.
We moved here in Aug, and took our 2 girls (5 and 2 at the time) to the Riverwalk and they loved it. They were not bored at all. We went into the huge mall they have there and they just loved it. We did the boat ride (our tour guide was SO boring - but it was an interesting ride and the kids ejoyed it). It is definatly alot more fun in the evenings w/o the kids But I don't think they will be bored unless you have kids that have to always be actively doing something ( like a sport or something) if they enjoy walking and shopping, and people watching they will be fine for a day.
Weather should be great next week!
Have fun!!!

I am thinking with your kids ages they may like Fiesta Texas better because of the rides. However, either place is going to be packed. Sea World, Fiesta Texas, the zoo, all will have loads of people, so expect long lines and waits.
