Does anyone have recommendations for a company who will design and build an outdoor kitchen and spa? I've been trying to get Keith Zars Pools to do it, but the guy I've been working with has not been very responsive so far...even 'completely forgot' about an appointment at our house that my partner took off work early to attend. He promised to e-mail us the plans he was going to discuss last week, but hasn't done that either. I'm getting frustrated! Thanks for any recommendations.

Wow!! You would THINK for the kind of money you are spending with Keith Zars that they would be VERY RESPONSIVE!!!!

Gulfbaby...would you have any contact info for Craftsman Manufacture? I've tried to find their info in the phone book and online, but am coming up empty. I'm new to the area, so I really don't even know where St. Joe is. Thanks!

Karen....if I'm reading her right, and I have the right St Joe, I think they are in Florida!

That's pretty bad for Keith Zar.....I'd call and ask for the owners. I'm sure they would appreciate knowing he's losing business.....and that might prompt a very quick and efficient reply.

You also might try Palmer Todd....very good company with a great reputation.
They do a lot of Kitchens and if they are smart, they are keeping up with the trends for outdoor cooking etc! Sorry, I don't have the number right off.

Kieth Zars is a very good man and hard working. He will answer his phone personally if you call and ask for him - assuming he is in that day (which he usually is). He cares deeply about customer service and will do whatever it takes to make any situation right.

I don't have one of his pools (though I would love to have one) and don't work for the company. Take my word for it though. Call and ask for him and he won't disappoint you (if he does it will be the first time I have ever heard of such)

Well, looks like a lawsuit has been filed against him....
apparently not for workmanship or fraud or anything related to his product...
he is being sued for employment issues and the plaintiff cites the Americans with Disability Acts - I THINK!! not sure about that part....

soooooo.... maybe he has just been real busy and distracted by that...
I'd sure call him again and give him another chance....

here's a link to the VERY limited information about this recent suit ( was just filed on July 17, 2007)..... in San Antonio.....

Thanks everyone for your suggestions...I'm looking into them all! We are moving into our house today and are being forced to look at our neighbors outdoor kitchen! Can you believe it? Well, I guess we may be floating into our house...we'll see!

I have been in contact with a contractor I found through servicemagic.com to pour a concrete patio. He mentioned to me that he does outdoor kitchens too. Out of the 4 contractors who were referred to me through servicemagic, he was the only who called me back. I even scoured the phone book and called about a dozen contractors and NONE returned my phone call. Jeff--with Agave told me that they are probably all just so busy with all the work that's available in San Antonio they can't handle anymore work, but he also said that's not cool for them to at least not call me back and let me know.

Now, he is several weeks out for scheduling, but he is a super nice guy to deal with. Here's the link to his website: Agave Construction & Landscaping, LLC |
