Just wondering if anyone else is currently going through the application/hiring process for boeing here in SA. They are said to be hiring 400+ people for the dreamliner mods. I myself have applied for an Electrical Mechanic job and have had a phone interview a little over a week ago. Havn't heard anything back as of yet but on the Boeing website im still listed "Under Consideration". Just wondering if anyone is is the same boat as I am because its a nerve wracking process waiting for a response.

Wish me luck!

My neighbor said he's already gone in for the drug test and everything else for that position... but is still "waiting" to hear back. His POC told him that the process takes time and to wait.

Are they hiring contractors or is it all direct hire? I always heard that you have to know someone to get in....dont know how accurate that is.

I believe they are hiring contractors. I dont think thats true.. with how many positions they are trying to fill it would be hard for all new hirees to have a contact inside boeing. Also there are a good amount of entry level positions that are gonna be filled.

They [Boeing] are hiring both [directs and contractors]. With the increased workload of the 787 and the 747 they are in need of mechanics. There is a upcoming "job fair" to hire the folks they need. Not sure of the exact date. I keep hearing a couple of weeks. Watch the papers, and listen to the radio and etc for more information.

If someone is interested in being hired as a contractor. PDS is the company to inquire through.

Boeing ALWAYS takes forever. 2 weeks atleast, dont be suprised by a month. Its a monster corp with miles of red tape and proceedures that contradict each other. Still once in its not bad.
