I called up a local company I found online at Moderator cut: link, see comment for a gutter estimate and he suggested I get soaker hoses around my house to prevent the clay from expanding and retracting which can cause some sort of foundation issues. I am not from this part of Texas and have not heard of this I was just wandering if anyone could confirm that I need this. Thanks

Steve Smith

The builder who built my home in North Central SA (and the builder's warranty manual) recommended soaking the soil around the foundation. IMO, it's especially important to do that during a drought. There are other threads in this forum about this topic, so it definitely is an issue here.
