This even has been starting off the Fiesta season for many years now, from what I have heard. But I don't even see it listed as an official Fiesta event.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

I don't think it's an official Fiesta event. It just "happens" to fall the first weekend of Fiesta.

No, because Fiesta occurs at different times from year to year. (For example, this year Fiesta occurs much earlier than usual.) But they always have AHN on the first Friday night of Fiesta.

Yes, but it's not an official Fiesta event. Like I said, it just "happens" to fall the first weekend of Fiesta every year (that is me being silly - of course they plan it to be the first weekend of Fiesta).

There are LOTS of events going on during Fiesta week that aren't official. And they happen on the same day(s) during Fiesta every year.

Not an official fiesta event because proceeds go the AH rotary club, not the fiesta commission. It's a great event, more of a huge block party than anything else.

It moved last year to Incarnate Word University. Is that the case again this year?

All the funds go to Rotary charities. It is the 25th year of the event and now a second generation goes.

FYI , it was moved to Incarnate Word from the Alamo Height pool area because the city of AH wanted a cut and the Rotarians want all the money to go to charity.

Why it is not a Fiesta event, is also so that some control can be exercised over the crowd and remain a family event. One only has to remember NIOSA 25 years ago to the event now.

I am not a Rotarian but some insight into the event.

My grandchildren wlll go.
