Good grief, when will the fear mongering stop. NISD already has 93,000 students enrolled; figure the percentages. There is no need for panic or even this "story". NISD is opening more schools per bond issue that you and I already voted on. There are no shortages of teachers or money to pay them. There MIGHT be some relocation of assets by NISD like they do EVERY year. This is not a first folks and happens EVERY year. If NISD would like to cut, they can cut crap like a projector in every room, an overhead Oscar in every room, quit issuing laptops to students, go back to books instead of IPads, go back to the chalkboard, the list of "technologies" is endless that we are paying for.....and most of the graduating classes can't give you the correct change at their hamburger jobs. We've let these educated idiots make our children totally reliable on the computer- knowledge not required. These are the same people that claim the kids are going to suffer because for a change they have to be responsible for the millions of our tax dollars they're screwin off. Don't be among the dimwits to believe this propaganda.

Some posts above were deleted. There are a lot of things happening in local school districts now. Try to make your replies to this thread have an obvious connection to crowding in Northside ISD.

We can't have a thread with a topic this specific turn into a freewheeling rant session about all that is wrong in local schools.

What will they do with the extra kindergarteners?
If a school is capped, they will send her to another school in the district. They'll provide transportation from your school to the one they send her to, and move her back to your school when a spot becomes available...or at least give you the option of moving her back.

They say the same thing every year though, about schools being too full. I think the news stations like to sensationalize news and so instead of saying one or two schools might be capped, they make it sound like it's district-wide.

NEISD did the same thing the year my eldest started kindergarten. We were really worried about there being a spot for her and the school had plenty of room.

Here is a link regarding NISD, and their capping/cluster info.

If by chance, you are looking at a particular school, I would also check out the school that it sends its overflow to. Just in case. If you register during the kinder round up, you really shouldn't have a problem. And then once you are in the school, they send home early registration forms to guarantee spots for already existing students.
