We were going to do a small party, but that won't work cause no one can come.
Is there a cool restaurant you could rec to take him? He eats anything. I am a vegetarian- so places like Chauma Gaucha are probably out cause I think they would laugh at me, unfortunately.
Looking for something fun that he would love- something different and cool.

If he likes beer, try the Yard House located at the Shops at La Cantera. I have a vegan friend and we like to go there since it satisfies my beer/meat fix and has a good selection of vegan/vegetarian meals. Check it out: www.yardhouse.com

Sorry I missed the part about "different and cool." Can't say that the Yard House is different but it is cool and has great food.

How about the Melting Pot located at Blanco and Bitters? My wife loves the place but I haven't been there. Can't say whether or not they are vegetarian-friendly.

What about the Islamorado restaurant at Bass Pro? Pretty good food, a neat decor, and you can take him shopping for his birthday present afterward if he's the outdoorsy type...

And wish him a happy birthday from all of us!

Cheers! M2

They will not laugh at you at Chama Gaucha. They have an amazing salad bar and they offer a salad bar only price for those who don't want or eat meat.

Gruene Texas - Choose one of the restaurants here and then do a little shopping or visit Gruene Hall.

NICE choice...
Perhaps I'll go this weekend; I myself was looking for something to do....
