Why are we stuck with plain old "SA International?" Why can't we have a nicer name like Midway, La Guardia, or Heathrow? Who's in charge of that and how do we go about changing it?

I know our airport pales in general to most others, but at the very least we could have a decent name, don't you think?

Hehe, I complain more than I should about our airport, but the name isn't among my complaints. I've never been to an airport where I've said "wow, I like flying here because it has a cool name". No offense...the name just isn't a consideration for me at all. The efficiency, travel-friendly elements, and connectivity to my destination are the hallmarks of a great airport in my book.

Why why why can't we call it something really really cool like San Antonio Extraterrestrial Encounter Airport? And then Bruce Willis will put a Planet Hollywood in one of the terminals since we're so cool.

You could have a really creative one like DFW International Airport.

I actually like the name "San Antonio International Airport!" It is very telling, you know where it is and what kind of flights arrive and depart from it.

Of course, if someone wanted to name it after me, I'd have no objections!

By the way, a little known fact is that Heathrow is named after the little hamlet that was obliterated to build the airport. What an honor that is!
