Yes. They did not say what school the students are from or why they were being chased.

Apparently, one teen was shot and killed...

Quote:
According to police, two teens got into a fight on the campus of nearby Northside Alternative School. A Northside Independent School District (NISD) police officer saw the fight and pulled and tried to put the two teens in custody.

However, one of the teens managed to break free, and ran away.

Police say that teen, with the NISD officer on his heels, broke into the shed at the Roswell Canyon home in an effort to hide out. But, the homeowner saw the intruder and called police.

Neighbors say they saw the officer go to the back of the house.

What happened next has not yet been confirmed by police. But NISD officials says a scuffle ensued and one shot was fired.

Witnesses say they watched as the 14-year-old teen in in critical condition was taken away in an ambulance. Shortly after that, the injured teen was reported dead. (Source)
How very sad...

Also...

"Police say the victim was not an NISD student." (emphasis mine)

Too early, Dopo - sorry to bust yer bubble, but most of us want to know WHY the kid was shot first. From the reports, he was pretty young - certainly sounds like a tragic case of him outrunnin' his guardian angel........

I am pretty sure the officer was following protocol but sad to see someone die over teen fight? Just does not seem right.

Not the typical victim because he made his own choices and there is no one to blame other than the overall factors, wherever they can be found, again his own choices since he went to a school he does not belong to and fought primarily, his mental well being, the environment, etc...

I feel bad for the officer, hope he copes well, such can be expected in that line of work but still, and more so for the parent(s), friends, and family of the victim.

I would have to wait for an update on this story. We don't know if the boy had a weapon, if he got a hold of the officer's gun or another weapon, or if the officer made a poor judgement call (it does and has happened).

UPDATE: NISD officer shoots and kills teen after chase | WOAI.COM: San Antonio News

Quote:
NISD officials did not release the teen's name but said he was an 8th grade student at the Bexar County Juvenile Justice School. The boy had attended Pease Middle School, just down the street from where the shooting happened, but had recently been expelled.
Sad no matter how you look at it. Young kid already in trouble probably headed down the road of a life with crime. At the same time a young kid lost his life--maybe his life could have been turned around. Nobody will ever know.
