I want to purchase Mexican painted ceramic items like the kind available at Market Square. Market Square is kind of expensive, so I was wondering if there is the same thing available at some other San Antonio market, like at the flea market or something. Any advice on this?

There is a place on Eckhert Road by Abe Lincoln that sells nice stuff at what I think are good prices. I have bought several things there...the lady who runs it is very sweet and she will wheel and deal some...

You might find what you are looking for at Bussey's flea market on IH 35 N or the one in Poteet. They got lotsa stuff like that and they will bargain with you as long as you don't get too ridiculous trying to lower the price.

That's a great place and your'e correct that she does wheel and deal. She has even had items brought up for us on an upcoming load.
There is also another place ,Mexico Lindo, on 1604 (outside the loop) between Bandera and Braun. They have items outside and a small indoor area. She to will deal with you. I guess everyone will these days to a certain extint.
Although I have not been there my Wife has seen what your looking for at Trader's Village (Loop 410 SW @ Pearsall Road). I think the admission is 2 bucks per vehicle.
