Hi Y'All (Putting on my best San Antonio Texas Accent ever)

Hope all is well with everyone!

Recently with the drought and all, I thought we would not have a pest problem. We do have quarterly pest control but not for our lawn as I thought it would not warrant it. Mr. X takes care of our fire ant mounds with stuff from Home Depot.

For the past month though if I go outside to water the plants I seem to get attacked by swarms of No See Ums. We do not live near a body of water and the nearest lake would be Boerne Lake but that is at least two miles away. Has anyone ever had a problem with these and what have you done to rememdy it?

Also it seems we are getting loads of different ants, crazy ants and regular ants. They have attacked my lavender and my sunflowers killing them! I am not pleased.

What can you do to control these pests? My fear is getting our lawn treated chemically by a pest control company and it getting into the water supply.

Let me know.

Thanks! Mrs. X

yes. I was attacked by the "no see 'ums" as well today. Couldn't even bear to stay outside they were biting so badly. I never knew about these until one of my 5th grade students explained what they were.

we have our property and home treated quarterly but my infant was eaten by invisible mites last week. We vacuumed like crazy, keep him off the floor, what happened? The Dr. said it looks like scabies.

Well, we have a problem on the INSIDE! Fruit flies, specifically. They came in on a load of bananas. Can't get rid of them. They are making me crazy.

Outside, it's the wasps. Good grief. Freaking me out.

Those things are seasonal at my house. They appear in August for a few weeks and are gone by October. I tried some sticky fly strips once, but it was to no avail. Time is the solution. At least they don't bite!
