If you like Thievery Corporation you need to check out Massive Attack!

For me today, it was the soundtrack from Trainspotting!

Choose life!

Cheers! M2

Can you believe I've never seen that movie? 1996 was NOT a good year for me though (nor the next two).

I was always grateful for the collaboration MA did with Elizabeth Fraser.

Today I had to reformat my SD card and added a few albums, including Daughter's EP "The Wild Youth". Glad to see the 4AD label is still going strong and holding true to their original vision (although this EP is from Glassnote Records).

Sorry to hear that, but you are missing a great (albeit bizarre) movie!

It'll definitely keep you off heroin!

Plus, it was Ewan McGregor's first real movie, and the soundtrack rocks!

Tonight the Allman Brothers Band holds their last concert in the Beacon Theater before disbanding. A truly sad day for music lovers everywhere. The concert will be carried live on satellite. It was a good run boys:

Rolled out into the wet world this morning, dial on 106.7 "The Eagle," first song up: SRV "Texas Flood."
Well played radio, well played.

1st time I heard the Stones live was here in SATx Freeman Coliseum 1964.

2nd time I heard the Stones live was 45 years ago today
in Dallas at the SMU Basketball gymnasium. (Moody Coliseum).
the Let It Bleed Tour.

tickets ranged from 4 bux to 7.50

Chuck Berry opened the show. then Ike and Tina Turner. then the Stones.

this was 1969. same year Brian Jones was murdered.
so, Mick Taylor was on guitar.

and the tour culminated at Altamont.
where the band hired the Hells Angels as security,
and paid them with beer and bennies.
that really didn't work out all that well.

setlist in Dallas -

Carol
Sympathy for the Devil
Stray Cat Blues
Prodigal Son
You Gotta Move
Love in Vain
Under My Thumb
Midnight Rambler
Live With Me
Little Queenie
Satisfaction
Honky Tonk Women
Street Fightin Man

it was a HELL of a night.
those were the good old daze.

Default AS The Band Played at Altamont ,

As the Stones played and Mick Jagger sang
"Under My Thumb" the Angels killed a black man underneath, near the stage.
Think I remember an acquittal on that because the guy produced a knife.
No, it did not turn out so well at all , Mud.
That short story happened to be in my sophomore english text in college along with "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" by Martin Luther King.
