Out of curiosity, anything to back that claim up? That's a pretty harsh thing to say without any proof.

I've had an alarm done at Mothers years ago. Custom Sounds did my stereo a long time ago as well. Had some real trouble with the amp they installed, but they eventually made good on it.

Proof? Yeah let me have them come out on video and say what they do. It's called being in the scene and knowing what really goes on at these shops.

I'm not doubting that you know something about them, but to post that kind of stuff on here with nothing to back it up (that you're publicly posting) seems like a pretty empty post. Would love to hear proof of what they did to you.

I can understand that... This is the deal, won't happen all the time but this is how the scam works. You get ur work done, when you pay with a check or credit card they can find out your home adress, in the next few days your stuff is gone. Some hot rod shops and some stereo shops are known for doing this. Mothers was one of the shops. I have no proof as they were never caught. They may have cleaned up as is was the shady techs not mothers itself... Besides the risk of theft there installs are never that great. I have nothing against them it's just that I am very big in the car scene and know what shops have stand up guys.

One thing to remember try and pay cash, do not give out your adress.

I've averaged a new car or truck at least every 2 years since '80 or so. For 20 years, Mothers was where we went. In 2000, they did the last one for us. The "why" isn't important to anyone but us, but suffice it to say that I have NOT recommended them since then - period. We'll not set foot in ANY of their stores again.
