The SAPD had 151 closed at Potranco just west of 410 between 5:30-6:00am this morning, forcing all traffic to exit onto the access road. While I sat in the right lane watching vehicles in front of me cut in front of other cars at the last minute without signaling (), I tried to see why 151 was closed but saw nothing. Of course, I really couldn't see past the 410 overpass.

Anyone know what was going on? When I finally exited 151 it appeared the officers were clearing the roadblock, as several were kicking flares off the road. I suspect it was re-opened shortly afterward...

Cheers! M2

Not sure, but I did hear of a rollover accident on 151 this morning. Car was on the median between the main roads and the access road.

That was probably it, but it still never ceases to amaze me how many people wreck on that road! I've driven portions of the autobahn that were curvier and had higher speed limits that didn't experience the number of accidents that 151 has! For the most part it is straight with few hazards (other than the people driving on it!)...

Yep...

West Side traffic Snarled

Far West Side commuters had their hands full dealing with congestion on Texas 151 following a series of early-morning crashes.

Traffic investigators were summoned to 151 and South Callaghan Road shortly after 5:30 a.m. for a rollover incident after a woman driving a car west bound on 151 apparently fell asleep, drifted into westbound lanes and struck an oncoming truck.

Both drivers were hurt, but neither was thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries, police said.
Apparantly there was another major accident 45 minutes later at Wiseman just east of 1604 that took over a half hour to clear!

Cheers! M2

We are talking about SA drivers though. I recently drove through Houston and talk about knowing how to drive on a highway. People actually went the speed limit on 10 and 45. People putz along around here.

Also, 1604/Wiseman there are those apts right before the light. I have had to slam on my brakes numerous times due to people just pulling out on to 1604. I imagine that place is a nightmare during the school year.
