I haven't noticed any real speedup, not that I am complaining about the speed, but I have noticed since they did this I lose connectivity more than I should. I originally reset my modem as they suggested to get the speed upgrade. After noticing connection drops I reset the modem again to see if that would fix the drops, but it didn't. Maybe it's just a coincidence and has nothing to do with the "speed upgrade", but I did start having these drop-outs shortly after that happened. I would call them micro dropouts as they are short lived (click on a link and get a dead connection, refresh the page and it comes up right away). It probably happens with one in 10 links I click.

TowBar, when this happens, is the connection light on the cable modem going out?

Same thing's happening with me, but my cable modem is actually losing the connection. Wondering if it's time to swap out the modem.

TWC will replace the modem. all you have to do is take it to a service center. I have exchanged mine a couple of times due to loss of connection. That has been over a period of many years though. Hasn't really been a big problem.

Don't know. I run a wireless netwok and the cable modem isn't near my computer. Like I say, the connection drop is so momentary that I don't have time to go look at the modem; by the time it would take to walk into the next room to look at the modem the connection would be restored. It could be an issue with my wireless router, but again the drop is so short lived it doesn't show that I have lost connection. It only started happening after they announced the speed upgrade, but that could be coincidental. If it keeps happening I will probably take them the modem to swap out. Does anyone know if you have to call in a trouble and get some sort of ticket number before they will swap your modem? Or can you just walk in and tell them you want to swap your modem, and they will give you a new one?

I would very much like to know this too. Can you just waltz in and ask for a replacement or must you go through their pointless troubleshooting first?
