There is a fire station located in Camp Bullis that I am sure will dispatch to Camp Stanley if needed. Btw, I recently drove around Camp Bullis over the weekend and was surprised at how clean and pristine the area was. So many deer, wild turkey, fox, jack rabbits, etc over there. Was around evening and think I only saw 2-3 people the entire time. Great place to jog if you have access.

I saw my house 'flash before my eyes' earlier today. This fire was the 'real thing'. It's amazing that it was contained and put out so quickly. We really dodged a bullet here.

I did too, LVK. Did you pack a bag? I was organizing stuff...dog leash, cat kennel... was so hard to be without info while the power was out!

Seeing some traffic on Twitter about a new fire at Camp Stanley today, supposedly worse than yesterday's.

Mr. X contacted me and said part of the I10 is closed. That traffic is backed up a long way. I pray these wildfires do not spread up the I10.

And not only do these firefighters risk it all putting out these fires, with our current drought conditions the addition of water will bring out the rattlesnakes. They had to wait until sunup the other day to go back to a field they put out to search for the cause of the fire. Rattlesnakes cause firefighters to wait for sunup|WOAI: San Antonio News

(OT: watch out folks when watering your own yards---I watered my backyard Monday morning, and lo and behold ended up with a rattlesnake in my backyard that bit my lab. Lab is fine...I think he just got grazed but his face swelled up a little bit (not a lot) but a trip to the vet and $300 later and he's lucky...it could have cost thousands to hospitalize him if the bite were worse).

Rattlesnakes? Oh no! It's bad enough that I saw a scorpion in my house on Saturday. Now I have to worry about fires and rattlesnakes.

Is the Camp Bullis fire contained yet? I live about 25 minutes away from the area that was on fire, so I think I'm ok, but my insurance company sent an email and voicemail alert saying that my area may be in danger. I was too worried to stay at work.

I don't see the fire from my house, so I think I'm ok, but I worry about coworkers who are in the Fair Oaks and Camp Bullis areas.

Going to look for rattlesnakes now...
