Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for comments on the cable and security services provided by GVTC. We'll probably be using them for internet, and telephone, but we want to know if we should consider their cable and security services too?

I'm located in the North Central part of S.A. just south of Bulverde.

I would appreciate any input you can provide. We've got to make our choices, soon as we move in at the end of the month.

Thank you in advance!

I have GVTC and am disappointed with their cable service. The picture is fuzzy, the screen flashes black every couple of minutes and my Showtime goes out for days at a time. I just get a black screen.

Their security service, on the other hand, I am pleased with. When the alarm goes off accidentally they call to verify everything is fine within a minute. I've never had police dispatched so I don't know how long that takes.

Thank you Jackie. You have confirmed some of the information I've received from another person.

Default GVTC Cable TV

Biggest mistake was going from Dish to GVTC. What GVTC will not tell you is there DVR has many problems. Many times scheduled programs do not record. The DVR is suppose to record up to 100 hours not even close. The program info has no detail no episode number no date of originale showing. I am locked in a one year contract and I couldn't be more sorry. I love Dish and soon we'll be together again.

had the same farkin thing happen when i had directv. id have programs set to record all (reruns and new episodes), but only some would get recorded (sometimes it would be new stuff, other times reruns). had my DVR replaced multiple times, no go.

however, pic quality was great (only had sdtv, i have a dvd player and the internet for anything HD related). the csr who installed my dish was a lazy farkin slacker.

he actually tried to get me to NOT sign up! i know he only did this because my service requires a roof installation. he tried to pull the bull**** like 'it wont work on the ground or mounted on the wall, so we cant provide you service'. bull. i said 'what about the roof? theres nothing up there and no trees obstructing the view'. he said that might work but id need to set up a new install time and get some stupid letter signed by the property owner.

told him to hold on, got my landlord on the phone. he speaks to my landlord for around 10 minutes, hands me back the phone and says its no go, sorry i cant help you.

i ask him to wait one more time, call my landlord. he said 'sure go ahead, there is already a dish up there from one of the previous tenants'.

i go back to the installer, ask why he lied. he literally says nothing. i say 'well my landlord said its fine, please install my dish on the roof'.

i could tell he wasnt happy. moreso, 4 hours later, when hes drenched in sweat and the install was completed.

/i hate direc tv now.
