Will be going to Fredericksburg Monday for a day trip to the Wildseed Farm.

Any suggestions on any German or other restaurants would be appreciated. Also, any information on the Farm would be appreciated.
Looking for a lunch place so don't really need a bar or beer garden.

Thanks

Most restaurants are closed on Mondays. Try Alamo Springs outside of town, Peach Tree, or Sunset Grill. Be sure to check if they are open before heading out.

Personally, we love the Hangar Hotel Diner at the Fredericksburg Airport!

(but they're closed on Monday and Tuesday as well! )

Cheers! M2

Yes, I was afraid of the Monday closures...thanks for the responses. I'm sure we will be able to find something downtown...I'll report back.

Yeah, I noticed one did!

Oddly enough, it's one word that I can never spell right, I can't figure out why!

It's a weird phenonomen...phononomen...phenonemum...thing!

Cheers! M2

Absolutely highly recommend my favorite hamburger (and #3 rated in Texas by Texas Monthly) place at Alamo Springs Cafe ! Link is: Alamo Springs Cafe, Fredricksburg Texas. You can do this either before or after your Wild Seed farm trip since it's on the way.

You WONT be dissapointed! The drive to there is beautiful and there is an awesome bat cave that you can view (you can see some bats flying around in the day time, but best for evenings) if you hike a little. This is right next to the restaurant, so perfect if you need to "decompress" a little after eating those burgers. They are open Mondays!

Another idea, since it's sort of near by, is to check out the "Texas White House" (LBJ National Park): http://www.nps.gov/lyjo/index.htm . See LBJ's old car collection, his office where he planned the Vietnam war, several 19th Century pioneer buildings left untouched, his private runway with AIR FORCE ONE (a static display), buffalo, a working farm and ranch, etc. Lots to see and the perfect weather for it. All FREE.

There is also the famous Luckenbach nearby both Wild Seed and Alamo Springs: http://www.luckenbachtexas.com/

Thanks all.

Fredericksburg 1-day -- "Restuarant" Recommendations

I noticed mine immediately but unable to correct it....lol.

I also cut my teeth writing letters with an eagle eye in the front office...not pretty. Back then we had multiple copies (onion skin's). The blue one for the file, the yellow for the chron, and countless whites for the bcc:'s...can you tell I used to work for the government, in DC no less.

I'm now retired (April 30) so things don't stick (matter) with me much anymore...lol.

Off to "Fredikburg".
