Trying to understand why my mom pays two water bills for her single family home that was built in the 60’s. She says it’s always been this way and the usage is spilt between the bills, but not evenly. There’s only one water meter in the front of the house. Any thoughts on what is going on?

I also get a BexarMet and Saws bill. BexarMet is the actual water bill and then the wastewater is Saws.

She probably lives outside of city limits...maybe she lives in Castle Hills instead? I live in unincorporated Bexar county and get two water bills. Bexar Met is the fresh water, SAWS is the sewage bill. The SAWS bill is not metered, the charge is based on our usage that Bexar Met reports to them.

We get a third bill for trash, unlike San Antonio residents who just get one bill from SAWS for fresh water, sewage, and trash.

In my community our trash is a separate line item on our HOA quarterly bill since we are not in city limits. So yes I have three different bills also.

I'm withing city limits, but our HOA contracted trash to a third party company, so I pay one bill for water/sewage and one for trash/recycling

In Castle Hills, we pay BexarMet for the water-in and SAWS for the water-out (or a rough estimation thereof).
