Since so many people use Wikitravel these days, I thought it would behoove us SAers to see what's written about us on there.

San Antonio travel guide - Wikitravel

Right there in the first paragraph:

"There's a lot to do in this city: fine art museums, historical missions and plenty of amusement parks in addition to great dining and lots of drinking."

Hmmmmm.....why am I not surprised. At least they didn't say "lots of drinking & driving." Anyways, what do you guys think of our Wikitravel page? Is it well developed? Or is it missing something here and there or completely wrong elsewhere?

Like any other Wiki page, its content is not controlled and almost anything can be said about the city. The comments about the Alamo are ridiculous, but show how there is no oversight into what is posted.

That said, it's not bad. It does need a lot of work as it seems to be lacking information, but that will come with time. There is some good info on there, I didn't realize that we had both a German and Belgian consulates here (we've lived in both of those countries).

Cheers! M2

If someone sees the Alamo and then says "Hm, I thought it would be bigger"....well, tell them it WAS bigger! That mission where the battle was fought was mostly gone by the time the conservationists and the city leaders decided it should be saved. All that remains is mostly the chapel from the mission.
