The new lights may bring more people to the river walk this year out of curiosity. You'll have to ask those business owners next year if the turn out is the same. I'm not impressed with them. As BlueU81 stated, they look cold. I have nothing against the LED lights, but I do hope they change the display or revamp the display next year to have the lights draping from the trees.

As some one who works on the riverwalk. I dont like them. Not enough tress are lit. Before it seemed just about every tree had lights on it. Now its one or two trees per block. I know those lights are expensive, but....

The old lights that covered the trees with dim light made for great ambiance and complimented the older charm of the river and downtown. The new lights are too bright and harsh...too commercial.

Just got back from the River Walk. It is NOT the same as years past--the lights suck.

The new lights are hideous. They make downtown look like some kind of alien moonscape. Blue is not very festive. I'm so glad the city spent a fortune to ruin Christmas on the river and make downtown ugly for the holidays. Great follow-up to the Durango name change. Apparently the city is just awash in cash and bad ideas these days. Wonderful. They should have just put up a Festivus Pole and called it a day.

Yeah, other cities have installed LED to mixed reviews about appearance...not very surprising.

I haven't been yet but have seen photos from friends who have gone and they are all disappointing to see. Doesn't look pretty at all.
