I'd like to throw an evening outdoor party next year... As a relative newcomer I am still learning about the weather patterns here. We have space indoors as backup (in case of rain hahaha or a cold front), but I would prefer to be outside with the number of people we plan on inviting. I am assuming February is out of consideration... Is March too iffy?

March can be pretty iffy - personally, I'd go late April/early May, especially if some of the guests are coming from out of state.

The first thing you need to know is that there are no weather patterns here. It's constantly different. That being said, it seems like the same weather system from last year is hovering, so we may be looking at another VERY cold winter. I'd say April to be safe.

Thanks y'all. Guess we'll wait until after spring break to plan anything. TRN, any out-of-state family would probably be appalled at what we now consider the minimum temperature for relaxing outdoors. Our blood has thinned!! (And brrrr... it has been cold this week!)

hehehe - I hear ya! We used to do annual BBQ's with folks from all over the US and Canada that would ride in on their M/C's - these guys would brave passes filled with snow - and get here to find us wearing shorts!

The past two years in a row I have thrown outdoor parties mid-late March and we were fine. No jacket was needed at either! I think you would be very safe in early April.

Early March would be great as a start. Looking back at this year we had mid 70's.
