There is a truck stop on SE Loop 1604 and I-37 (NEC). They make the tacos in front of you and they are to die for. About 20 varieties.

You know, I've been converted, too. Good stuff!

But like others have posted, you really can't go wrong here in SA.

Whenever I'm in the area I stop and pick up some to bring back to the office. The staff goes crazy over them.
I ate there a couple of years ago and they had really good tortillas. That is the longest a restaurant has survived in that location in recent history. I've seen several come and go over the past 10 years.

I like everyones input on the best breakfast taco's. The thing is that it has to be on the way to where I am going. Or returning. I find Taco Cabana reliable and I like the salsa. Bill Millers is good too, depending on where I am. I like Mama Margies near Southwest Med. I like Tink a Taco near the Mall. There are lots of other places, but you have to find them. They have got to be near where you are going. This ain't tourist stuff.

Tink-A-Tako does have the best tortillas, but the stuff they put in the tortillas isn't. That's why I want to try the quarts they sell at Tellez. Unfortunately yesterday was one of the few days they were only selling a few items, like tamales, for some reason. Wonder why?

Bill Millers: Bean and sausage. They make them with refried beans and their barbecued sausage.

I didn't want to like the Bill Miller tacos either, but the simple fact is that if you try them, you'll realize they're fantastic. We aren't exactly talking about a difficult cuisine here. They've got nice thick tortillas, fresh salsa and good meat. Bill Millers started as a mom and pop place in SA. Just because they got big doesn't mean they forgot how to make great tacos.
