.
I'm in the exact same boat as T-6 Pilot (re: Stone Oak/Canyon Springs Home Rentals thread), we are relocating and should arrive 1 Aug. I'm also going to be with the 559th once I'm done we tech school again (retraining). Only difference is I'm looking for a 3-4 BR in either Alamo Ranch or Stone Oak. Budget $1400/month.

Alamo Ranch is gonna be a heckuva haul to Randolph every day...even if you take 151 to 90.

I think 151 to 90 is going to be a considerably more stress-free drive. I don't think there's EVER any traffic or queues on that particular route to Randolph.

Yeah. 151 to 90 is a pretty easy drive compared to the alternatives to Randolph.

Not disagreeing, but that is still nearly a 40 mile commute during San Antonio rush hour traffic. Not something I'd want to do...

151 to 90 isn't bad? maybe at 6 AM or something, but closer to 7 it's a nightmare. The OP should look somewhere MUCH closer to Randolph, if that's where they're staying the entire time. The commute from AR or SO would be miserable and only get worse over time..

Oh, you said you were going to the 559 FTS at Randolph; if you're now going to Lackland than AR is no biggie whatsoever! It's an easy 15-20 minute commute except during rush hour...

But if you're going over to Randolph after training I would still recommend being closer to that location if/once you're done at Lackland.

Stone Oak to Lackland is a bit of a haul, especially during rush hour. I would recommend concentrating in the area depicted on this map...

Obviously it's no all-inclusive, but it's a good representation of where you want to concentrate if you're looking for good houses, schools and a half-hour commute or less...

Cheers! M2
