Hello!

Could anyone tell me if the directions I have to get to UTSA coming south on 35 is OK?

35 south from DFW

Take I-10 West until I see UTSA Blvd

Take a Left on UTSA Blvd

UTSA will be on right

I'm assuming I-10 will be plan to see when I'm on 35 heading south and I get to SA city limits?

Thanks a million!!!

I10 isn't accessible straight from 35S. You have to either go 1604W or 410W to reach I10. Think of there are three lines or highways that go through San Antonio North to South: 35S & N, 218(37)N&S and I10 W&E, which is also 87 N&S. You need a few more steps to get from 35 to I10. If you're coming 35S into San Antonio, I would go:

35S, exit onto 1604W. It will be very clearly marked because it's the first big loop of the city.

1604W to I10, which will run perpendicular to you. The drive to I10 will be around 17 miles or so from 35 so it's a good little drive.

Take I10 EAST, into the loop and under 1604.

From there, continue on I10E and UTSA Blvd will be very visable via exit signage so stay on your left and pay attention. It will come up fairly quickly.

At the light, turn RIGHT onto UTSA Blvd and follow the signage to wherever you need to go.

Thanks a million foro that information, Tort!! I would have never found I-10 without it probably.

Actually, you would have....in DT San Antonio. So, the routing, while accurate, isn't very "mileage friendly". Personally, I'd opt 35/410 West/10 West/UTSA Blvd - but that's because 1604 traffic can be pretty heavy, especially 7-10 am and 3-7 pm.

True, you would but why go all the way into town just to return out? It's would be most direct. "I" wouldnt want to do traffic during the 0700-0900 on 410W. But OP didn't state when she was traveling into that area so if OP was just coming off 35S, 1604 or 410 would be just the same.

I would agree with you....if I haven't had to routinely make that exact choice! It would SEEM dumb to go via 410, but believe me - it ain't! It took me a half-dozen times having one vehicle go 410 while I went 1604 (and they beat me EVERY stinkin' time!) to finally convince me!

Don't know if you have any kind of map for when you get there, but here's one online. These days it's a pretty big campus compared to when I was attending, so it's more important to get some idea where you're headed. Parking availability can be horrendous these days...from what I hear.

You'll want to park in the Bosque St. garage as there is limited or no visitor parking in the lots. That garage will put you directly by the MS Building and the University Center.

The Visitors Center and the Admissions Office are both in the MS Building
