I was looking through Craigslist and came across an ad for distributions with training making from $450-$650 weekly. I called for info and had interview set up. When I got there I saw the work "Kirby" on the outside of the building. Entering I saw cleaning stuff and vaccum cleaner parts. I knew then that it was for selling Kirby vaccum cleaners. I couldn't sell a glass of ice water in the desert if I had to since I am not the salesperson type much less pressure someone into buying one of these. I know these products are not cheap. Needless to say I gave them back their application and said, "No Thanx." and walked out. Has anyone ever bought one and is happy with it? Has anyone ever sold any of these?

I had an "interview" with them when I was around 18. I'm sure some people make money off of selling the vacuums, but it's not a reliable job. It kind of reminds me of Vector which attracts young people to sell Cutco products.

I've heard horror stories of not getting paid if you make to much . paying for benefits you dont get or need. no like you can go to the store and demand you money

I sold them for a few months in college. Worked long hours, paid for my own gas and car and only made a few hundred bucks. wasn't worth the money, BUT I learned TONS about being a salesman. There were some guys I worked with that rolled in the money, but most it was a revolving door of disappointment. I wouldn't do it unless you just want a free education in sales.

However, the products are (or at least were) pretty damn good, but hardly worth the ~$2000 price tag. Maybe at $500 or so.

just like Cutco, Avon, Herbalife, Scency, Partylite...they are all mulit-level marketing, or pyramid schemes. Some will succeed and feed of those below, but most come and go making no money.

Lol. I went to work for Cutco after high school. I was between jobs so I signed up, took their class and bought the kit for my mom. Never went back and they never called.

Wish I had a set of their knives now.

I have a set of cutco knives passed down to me and they work pretty well. I don't think I could pay the high prices they charge for a new set though.

Take what I say with a grain of salt but my husband and I purchased (financed, haha) our Kirby vacuum cleaner 7 years ago. We paid a pretty penny but...it still runs like a champ, haven't had to do any repairs with the exception of replacing the bag and belt. Looking back we were really dumb to fall for the sales pitch etc but I love my vacuum. As for "working for Kirby" I would say he** to the no! We were literally moving into our brand new home, boxes and everything and the salesperson showed up to our door and offered us a "free carpet cleaning" Ummm......intelligence is not one of the qualifications to work for them obviously.
