I forgot to add that I hope I see a lot of you there!

I know there is a separate car show thread, I just wanted to let my fellow "gearheads" and car lovers know about this specific event!

Cheers! M2

It was a pretty good event, a little slow to get started but once things got rolling it was a lot of fun!

The car show had some interesting vehicles, about a half-dozen members of the SA VW Beetle club came out. There was also a good selection of muscle cars, and a couple of "rat cars." Someone brought out a 1953 SA police car (not sure if it was an original patrol car or if someone just restored it as such) that was really popular. Chief McManus brought out one of the new Tahoes, I actually rode in one from another department last week on a call and am amazed at how these SUVs can handle so well at high speeds!

The rest of the event was family oriented, they had a lot of games and bouncy castles. The SAFD had a truck out and they let kids handle the hoses (with supervision, of course). There were some Revolutionary War re-enactors who were letting folks shoot a musket (using blanks of course). They had a DJ and a raffle, plus some good food. They flew in Blue Eagle, the SAPD helicopter to let people take a close-up look of it. All in all it was a great time.

I post some pics up later, but this hopefully will be a reoccurring event and definitely will gain popularity as more people find out about it. A few local media outlets were there covering it, the publicity will help spread awareness of this outstanding event.

Did anyone else make it out?

Cheers! M2

We considered it.. but took the Gkids to the event at Mission San Jose. We were too tired after that. It's very close to us as is the mission. I think I heard a civil war re-enactment of sorts was happening in Jourdanton. Was a great day to be out wherever .
