I was in Valero tonight and laughed when the guy asked me if I wanted to buy recess pb cups. Uh, no thanks....I actually made homemade ones last night.

They are just doing their job. They aren't in business for free ...every business is about making money. As many posters have said, the profit is not in the fuel that they sell. It's the drinks and snacks.

Doesn't bother me if someone is buying/cashing in lotto tickets. It's their right to do so as a customer. Just as it's your right to buy beer, cigs, candy, coffee or whatever.

Too many people take themselves too seriously these days and judge everyone for everything that they do if they don't like it. Live and let live.

The only time the lottery tickets bother me is when someone is standing there scratching tickets and cashing them, tying up the line.

I think I've been in a gas station maybe five times in the last five years. I always pay at the pump and once I quit smoking, there wasn't any reason to go into a gas station, unless we're on a road trip and the kids need the restroom.

Funny about this post is I just got back from Valero and bought a soda, the guy pushed peanuts and a candy bar. Told me it went well with the soda, bet they have a contest in the stores to see who sell the most crap.

Do the cashiers make something off these sales to persistently push it off on every customer ? I hate waking into a covenience store only to be solicited by the cashier, it is one thing when it is for MDA it's another when its for junk food.
Supply and demand.

Personally I'd be a little worried if a Valero cashier was offering me his beef stick.

If a person wants to blow his money on lottery tickets, so be it. It's a free country last I checked. I take issue when he is wasting my time doing so.

Geez, some of the things some people complain about. Do people not have perspective? This is the epitome of first world problems.
