I posted on the Technology forum, too, but my question is also specific to SA. I'm considering getting a refurbed Pearl to last me until the iPhone goes down in price and goes 3G (which I really think/hope it will). Anyway, anybody have the Pearl and use it with AT&T? How is it about dropping calls and how is the reception? A previous phone I had (Motorola V190) got practically NO reception in most of the stores at La Cantera, amongt other places. And while my current phone (LG CU500) gets great reception, it drops calls constantly! Not good in my business!

So I'm thinkin' "go with the Pearl" (could really use the mobile email) if it has good reception, even in the depths of La Cantera , and doesn't drop every other call. Feedback?

Rockin' The TriCities

n/a posts
I have the Curve, which is just the Pearl with a full-sized keyboard, and it seems to be working just fine. I don't get many dropped calls outside of zones that apparently no carrier can penetrate (for example, Neiman Marcus. Amazing how it's like a black hole of cell signals).

I'd go for it.

I'm holding out for a 3G iPhone as well, plus I think they will up the capacity again soon.

Thanx Rockin'! And yep, Neiman's is one of the place I've lost signal. I'm helping a friend out at one of the stores in that wing for awhile, and meanwhile I need to "stay connected". My Motorola always had no signal in the back room there but my LG is fine. I figured it's the difference in phones, but I sometimes wonder if it's that end of the mall. Seem sporadic, tho.

I like the Curve as well, and having the single letter keys is sure nice. Hafta check on that.

And yep, when a 3G iPhone comes out.... And since they lowered the price yesterday, I have more hopes that it'll come down even farther after Christmas time. We'll see!

I have the pearl, but it is on T-mobile. It works fine. I do have some spots around town where I always get a bad echo when I originate a call. But, I have just learned to quit making calls when I am in those spots.

The phone portion works fine and will accept up to a 4gb memory card. It is very small and the OS works flawlessly (when compared to the Q and the treo's I have had).
