Yes, most of the lofts are going to be downtown. Downtown is touristy, but not overly so IMO-- it makes downtown lively 24/7. But there is a good core residential population there that's been growing quite a bit lately. The current mayor is really pushing downtown revitalization.

The area out around St. Mary's is an older part of town consisting of '50s and '60s era bungalows and ranch houses. I actually used to live off Woodlawn near Bandera. Parts of that area have seen a bit of rebirth lately, but other parts are still somewhat run-down.

It really is, I don't understand why it isn't more popular. You get a fantastic location, newer construction and great amenities.

I see most apts dont hv attached garages so I,may have to settle for a carport or the parking garage.

Bars on windows isn't really indicative of how safe or unsafe the neighborhood is. Just a reflection of a time period when either they were needed for safety or were a popular add on even in safe neighborhoods.

Have you checked out the stone oak area? How about the Northwoods area or just south of northwoods? Also, check out the Inwood, Castle Hills area.

Another good area is the TPC area easy of Stone Oak across 281.

This entire ordeal is teaching me patience and ability to cope with unorganization/misinformation...Ive learned San Antonioans are more laid back and slow to react. Things are not as fast paced.

That's good. So what's the verdict so far? Find an area you've settled on?
