To me the traffic is not much here in S.A. Compared to Chicago or Austin.

Don't like when Barkley is in town and he can't keep his foolish trap shut.
Love that when I mention where I'm from I ALWAYS get
"Ahh San Antonio we love that city!"

Default Why not? It doesn't cost anything,

To dress down a Yank. It is amusing really. SO. Seek to justify our beautiful city to outsiders? - I am merely being brazen. We can either welcome them down or send them on their way.
Let the guy go on back to the foggy and slimy northwest. He is only making the overpopulation problem even worse down here anyway.

I spoke briefly on this same topic with a good friend of decades- a few years ago. Northerners that move down here are sometimes afraid, of everything out in nature because of the very apparent inhospitability of the local environment. It is true.
Sunlight, heat. This guy is even afraid of the residue from our water-
in his hair. This Yankee complaint, must be,-nay, is, - a first. Going even to shave his head, he is.
Make that a Mohawk hair style. This way the limestone residue from the water will stand the hair strands straight out. He must be washing his hair in Salado Creek.

A friend of decades and I were just sitting around one night here a few years ago, watching television, when seemingly out of nowhere he asked me randomly , almost absentmindedly -

" What are these people that come down here from up north, go out of doors and then are on the look out
for Poison Oak?"

" I don't know Ed- What in hell is, Poison Oak ? " I said.

" I don't know ? ", was his reply.

I like...
Brock’s Used Book store on Commerce.
Coney Island Hot Dog's on St. Mary’s.
Solo Serve on Soledad.
Joske’s downstairs cafeteria and two hours free parking.

I dislike that they are gone.

I dislike San Antonio politics, drivers, and the culture. Still a great city though.

Default Newsworthy,

What makes you comment that the San Antonio newspaper we have is disgraceful?
Not that I read it anymore. Anymore than I read the National Enquirer that is.

Default I know what you feel man,

I was very depressed for about a year when the Lone Star Brewery was closed down and moved to Dallas .

Default Merely,

All secondary in importance, it is the danged heat that will kill you around San Antonio. Not the humidity.
I don't care what anybody says. There are far worse places to be than here.
I am sure all of the aforementioned San Antonians - all dislike you too as much right back. Vehemently.
That is a lot of people.
Great posting.

GUAM !

Whenever I get into a pity-party about San Antonio weather.

I think of the scorching hot and humid weather with humongous tarantulas
and skeeters all year round.

All through the courtesy of Uncle Sam during my military times overseas.
