The inspectors need to provide the code in which one is non-compliant if they're citing.

I live in Southtown, and just planted some corn....and we just put some corn in at our neighborhood school (which is subject to historic district requirements). I've had a fairly large garden for awhile now as have many of our neighbors. There is also one community garden (by Green Spaces Alliance) in the area and more in other near downtown neighborhoods.

I can imagine the only real issues with corn are the commercial aspect (makes sense that no commercial farming is allowed, as that changes the type of property) and the possible problem with height if the plants block the view for drivers (like the height requirements for a fence on a corner).
