Where does one find out what part of town is having a rubbish pickup? (not tree branches) I have stuff I need to get rid of that is making my house look junky but I don't want to take it to city dump. What kind of stuff is considered unsafe to put by the curb of a pickup site?

It's now once per year (used to be twice per year). Do you know when you usually get stuff picked up? The rubbish/large item pickup occurs once per year at the same time as the brush pick up. The second time it's just brush.

I've never been able to find a schedule, but I know more or less when to expect it based on previous years. Maybe others in your neighborhood would have some ideas?

I thought it was on demand now actually, you call 311 and schedule a pick up. You only get two per year though.

They'll do that but it's $50 (at least it used to be, may have gone up). The two brush per year/1 large item per year is "free" or at least built into normal costs/not additional.

If someone has the link for a schedule, I'd love it. It'd be nice to better approximate it since it does change, though it's always within a month of when we expect it.

It's a little off (by a few weeks, says ours should be in April but it was done in March), but that's close enough. You can enter your address though and it is fairly accurate.

That is for bagged or boxed yard waste only.

use to be twice a year but the city decided to spend $33 million on green trash cans and $100k on changing unwanted street name changes.

Actially I'm considered Converse and we don't have pickups here. I usually take rubbish or brush to someone else's house. They are not sure when the pickups are other than they are once a year for rubbish. Maybe I will try and make it into itty bitty pieces so it'll fit in my trashcans or wait till June which is the next pickup in town somewhere according to that link map.
