Love the place. My parents want me to get this recipe for them, they think La Fogata might give it to me since I'm from out of town. I am sure they won't, but anyone have their recipe by any chance? I searched MySA & Texas Monthly with no luck...TIA

Well, I googled it out of curiosity and I couldn't find it. If it's that easy, maybe you could post the link for us.

Of course I'd already tried that among other things, even mentioned having done some more focused searches in my OP. I guess my post was too long for you to follow. Thanks so much for your help BTW...

No I didn't think so, but I thought maybe some clever chef/foodie/home cook might have figured out how to duplicate the result - and it might have been posted in SA. Thanks...

I've never eaten there so I haven't tried their rice. I have noticed a lot of restaurants here use Fiesta rice seasoning. A jar costs about $2 and makes something like 15 batches, so your parents might try it and see if it's close to what they're looking for

If all else fails ... Saute rice in a little butter add some cumin and a dash of chili powder. Add water and cook rice until done, add tomato paste. I'm still working on getting it right. I hit it just right once or twice and didn't write down my method. But with those ingredients you can make a great Spanish Rice.

I'm not familiar with La Fogata's in particular .

Sounds great, just add some chicken base or use chicken broth instead of the water.
