Moderator cut: orphaned

About apartments near Lackland and relying on the bus, what kind of hours are you working? and holidays? Not all buses run late hours and some of the holiday schedules are pretty useless, if you get too far and work late hours or holidays you'll end up having to take a cab or get a ride from a coworker.

Have you thought about an apartment locator? They don't charge you anything (the complexes pay them) and you can find one who will drive you around to the different apartments they're suggesting, which would make apartment hunting without a car a whole lot easier.

Seven Pines is a small though not glamorous complex. It's only neighboring community to the south is better if anything. It puts OP within a 100-200 yards of all the popular restaurants, mall , HEB , work, etc. He has no car..so what will they vandalize? Apartments aren't safe from vandals anywhere.

hm, okay, i looked up Seven Pines and the cheapest 1bdrm 1bath they have is in the $650 range
i know my point of view is different and in my eyes, this is more like moderate range to me (kinda moderate-cheap)
i'm talking CHEAP, like $550 is pushing it cheap

I understand getting an place with rent this low, it will probably be a little run down, there might be some crime problems, but like i said if it has working AC, Fridge, and running water i'm okay
I'll lock my doors. I don't have a car for someone to break in to. I'll be alright

Anyway, any more apartments anyone knows about? (Sorry to be so picky)

Good suggestion ^^ I'd forgotten about the Apartments on Whitewood across from Security hill. Looks like some of those come closer to fitting the $$ criteria. I'm sure the buses run all the way through Military to Lackland and Kelly. Short and direct trip and maybe a bit better housing to be honest.

Well, they've been there along time and likely, mostly military tenants in the past. Well all Valley-Hi has gone into a nose dive for many years. Sadly!
I'd rather stay in a Comfort Inn myself.

Great, glad to hear it. Spent a lot of time and had a lot of friends in there back in the 70's. I'm enjoying all our new additions at City Base and back at I-35 & Zarzamora.
