Judson ISD is just fine. The emphasis on sports is one of those urban legends that persists since this what was what JISD was known for in previous decades. I find that there is an increasing emphasis on academics and the arts. There are so many really good and dedicated educators there...and the staff at Wagner seem to be working a really hard to help their students succeed. I know a few families with kids there that seem to be pleased. Don't have kids there so can only report what I hear. JISD seems to get bad press all the time, but my experiences there have been positive.

From my experience working in education and having children in the district, Judson is very hit or miss as far as school quality. For elementary schools, I would feel comfortable recommending Salinas Elementary or Olympia Elementary, which are both very good schools.

I have heard positive things from parents with children at Kitty Hawk Middle School, but I personally feel less comfortable with the middle and high schools. We will make other arrangements when we get to that point.
