Most of Northside ISD is actually the far west side of town geographically, and I'm not so sure what that area will be like in another 5 - 10 years. Helotes is the only NISD area I would recommend.
Some of the best areas in the city are within NISD, including Dominion/La Cantera area, Shavano Park, Some of Rogers Ranch. Best two elementary schools in the city according to greatschools.org are Aue and Blattman, both in the NISD district

Yes, but consider the Middle School and High School that these elementary schools feed into.

No doubt those two are among the best in San Antonio, but I think all five listed at your Great Schools link are just in alphabetical order and also only the first five are shown.

Maybe this is a better link from the same site for elementary schools, for example, although community rankings are different from the website rankings:

I guess it depends on where you live, but Rawlinson and Clark both seem to have pretty good ratings. Which ones were you thinking off?

Reagan ranked as one of the top high schools in the nation in Newsweek (2011) & I think Johnson is not too far behind.

Yes, well, some of us went to high schools just like Reagan. Amazing how we all forget how positively awful they can be in other ways.

We lived in SATX from 2009-2012 and my kids attended a school in NISD. I'm looking at schools in the possibility we may move back and noticed Edgewood ISD? I've never heard of this. Is it a new/reorganized district? I'm surprised I've never even heard of it.

No. It's on the western edge of SAISD and Southwest ISD (possibly Southside too but I don't remember). Low income and Title I schools. Googling the district i came across a cool pdf of the history of the district. http://www.eisd.net/cms/lib04/TX0100...8/EISD1986.pdf

Thanks. I was on the website and kept clicking for the history, but it wouldn't load.

I think yours is the same link...it won't load in my phone. I'll try later with a laptop.

Edgewood ISD is largely the West Side (inside 410). They have had a few issues with administration and the school board over the past few years. A search for Edgewood ISD in Google News will catch you up.
