I have an '02 Navigator and I need to get the brakes done. Can anyone recommend an honest, reliable person/place? I am in the 1604 and Huebner area. Thanks.

My guy's too far from you, but if nothing else comes up, he is in Helotes... let me know if you don't find anything else that you think will work....

If you are talking about Mander's in Helotes, he is well worth the drive. You will not meet a more honest guy. Heck sometimes his invoice is LESS than he quotes you. I told him he quoted me more than that and he said "well, it didn't take as long as I thought it would". He is a very nice guy.

I haven't found anyone better than the dealer for work on my truck. I tried to find someone who could do it all and didn't have much luck.
I went to the dealer and got a quote and it was less than some other shops. I forget what I needed done, but for 2 years, the dealer has been the best for me. Garenteed and done when promised.

Alamo Heights Garage on Braodway and Loop 410 (just moved from around Austin Hwy). A little cheaper than dealer rates, but the most honest people around. I have been going to them for the last 15 years for any major work. Ask for Gary (owner).

I've been taking my cars to Hollywood Park Automotive on 281S and Thousand Oaks for 15 years. Bert Thompson is the owner and has always been 100% honest and fair to my entire family. His business is strictly based on word of mouth based on his reputation. When I had my BMW, the dealer wanted $1800 to replace a computer chip because my A/C was acting up. Bert's guys did more research and found out that they could fix it with a $15 part.

Thank you all for your replies. My brother in law was able to fix them yesterday. I will keep these references in mind for future problems. After watching my BIL, it actually looks easy enough for me to do. I think next time I will try to do it myself, under his supervision of course.
