I disagree very strongly! It's extremely difficult for most students to do that, especially in certain majors. So judgemental for you to just insult the majority of the UTSA students that make it to graduation with a bit more than 4 years of hard work! I would instead say to them "Way to go and congratulations!" for beating the odds and getting that precious degree!

Under the new law, their student debt if its a federal debt can be forgive in a matter of years. I hear they want to push it to 10 years, or maybe less.

Not quite that easy Student Aid on the Web

There are a number of requirements to fullfil for that to happen.

My 2 yrs at an expensive private Ivy league took a ridiculous amount of time to pay off. I don't regret it, but it's a good thing I had no debt from my undergrad years.

Oh the people that look to the government...The good thing about America is you have people that work hard like some posters above then the people who need help because they wanted to do it the fast and convenient way.

" Under this program, borrowers may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance due on their eligible federal student loans after they have made 120 payments on those loans under certain repayment plans while employed full time by certain public service employers. "

The expectation is that loan forgiveness applies to those individuals who commit to working in public service. It's not like they're bankers making $$$$.
