While zero tolerance policies should be reconsidered they have nothing whatsoever to do with RFID chips.

If pencil and paper were invented today some would be against roll call.

Also zero tolerance policies were introduced in Texas in the mid-1990s well before Columbine. The following is a quote from 1995.

They do when you consider the amount of latitude ceded to school districts in the last 20 years. The ISDs have shown through a demonstrated record of poor implementation that they will abuse any additional latitude given to them in an attempt to provide ridiculous levels of control. Blame the helicopter parent generation.
