45 people? That's it? We have like 6000 residents ..and a measly 45 people show up!!! That's pathetic..it's no wonder that nothing gets done.

I think that is a good thing. People care enough to come out and voice their concerns. By the way, Westcreek is running around 3200 homes and the second largest subdivision in San Antonio and was born in 1987! I like the fact people want to know and be involved in their community. Some folks will always grandstand for their agenda; but I think for the most part, people really want to be a part of their community. Westcreek consists of a multitude of homeowners that have so much to offer. It's a combined effort on the parts of not just a board of directors and staff - but the community also coming together. Sharing information, exchanging ideas, combining resources. Sharing and volunteering doesn't need to cost a lot of money. Get over the attitudes and pool together, volunteer and lets make this the best subdivision in San Antonio.

Could be that you're right. I can't think of any reason why the board would buy a property. They should just get what is owed in dues/penalties not ownership.

Any meeting notes from those that were able to make it?

I know attendence at meetings should be more, but: in all the years I have been here, when I used to go to the meetings, it was usually me and two others the most. So 45 by comparison is good for a BOD meeting. I'm referring to monthly "BOD" meetings not "Annual" meetings which usually fill the room.

45 is great for a meeting that wasn't even announced other than word of mouth by residents and internet blogs.

What were the attendance figures of meetings that were announced previously? In the hundreds, several hundred, thousand?

there was no announcement of it and I did not see it on the website's calendar either. I think 45 is good and wished I could have made it 47. Besides, who can say something about a low number when they weren't even there. Maybe a lot of the other people in the neighborhood had something to do as well. It was on a Monday evening which tend to be one of the more hectic times. I know it is that way for me, especially with school. Throw in an ever increasing number of doctor appointments and the amount of free time keeps shrinking even more.
but anyhow.. did anything productive come from the meeting? I still think this house ownership issue should be pursued further. I wouldn't put it past anyone to try to slip this through the cracks somehow with either skimming rent for personal gain or using the house for a relative. That former SAHA lady did that a while ago and power definitely does corrupt.

Default Disappointed in woman from your website

Just a short note to state how disappointed i was with the woman that got in my face over the information that i published on this website regarding all the issues going on with the bod. She was out of line. We worked hard to put facts together for the homeowners and communicate via emails, blogs, etc. Without this effort many of you would not have a clue as to what is going on. Thanks to her distraction i missed the opportunity to get more signatures and emails.
If any of you would like to get on the distribution list for homeowners for change please get it to me at the 9/28/09 town meeting. We will be outside looking for signatures and emails so we can get the word out to everyone.

Think about it, thru our efforts we have gone from 2 people showing up to a board meeting to i have estimated more than 50 ppl last night. It was hard work for a small core group to accommplish that.

Instead of a thank you, i got harrassed by this person from this website.

Villages of Westcreek Homeowners for Change
Are you aware of what’s happening in your neighborhood or are you so busy with your daily lives that you just don’t care?
Where are your assessments dues going? Who has the power in your neighborhood?
DID YOU KNOW YOUR ASSESSMENT DUES COULD BE RAISED AGAIN?
Our assessment dues were raised last year and are likely to be raised again as mentioned during the August Board Meeting. We have some of the lowest dues in San Antonio, but we need to have accountability and transparency on how our money is being spent now and in the future. Stop the misuse of our money and we want answers.
DID YOU KNOW THAT DURING THE SEPTEMBER 17, 2009 BOARD MEETING POLICE ESCORTED ALL HOMEOWNERS OUT OF THE BUILDING?
At approximately 6:00 pm 28 homeowners arrived at the Board Meeting. Mr. Severs announced that we could not all be in this room as he had the Fire Marshal come out and check the capacity. We presented options. Hold the meeting at the Park Pavilion, some folks would remain outside the room or only one person per family would stay thus freeing up space. Mr. Sever’s was not about to listen to any of our suggestions. He then turned to his Board members and asked them to vote on closing the board meetings to the homeowners or rescheduling to another day in a larger room. Michel Wagnon, Treasurer voted to reschedule and Mr. Severs, President second the motion. Liliane Castillo, Secretary voted to close the Board meetings to the homeowners. Note: During the August Board Meeting Mr. Severs stated that he would have a larger room for our next Board Meeting. Instead, he called the police to escort everyone out of the meeting. The whole thing was obviously staged and documented for our Board’s use against us. The Board stayed in the building for 1 1/2 - 2 hours before leaving the premise. Did they hold a closed meeting without the homeowners?
DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS A TOWN HALL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR 9/28/09 @ 7:00 PM?
OF COURSE NOT! Our Board placed it on their website which no one uses because it is not updated. Did you know they hired someone to do the updates for them? However, how can they do updates if they are not given the information? We have been fighting communication issues weekly to no avail.
DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE GAZEBO AND BEAUTFICATION PROJECT?
The Board voted to spend $50,000 in 3 stages to build a Gazebo and beautification of the back of the Community Center. We fought back in the August meeting and it was put on hold. Also, a Board member promised a homeowner the gazebo would be built for their November 2009 wedding.
DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE 3 HOUSES THE BOARD BOUGHT?
The Board bought 3 houses that we can prove and there could possibly be more. One is being rented for $1,100. The second one is under contract to be purchased with an asking price of $129,000 and is appraised at approximately $ 140,000 or more. The Board will not answer or provide any information on these properties.
DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE ONE TIME CHARGE ON COMMON PRIVACY FENCES?
The Board and Community Center personnel spent $700,000 on a fence project in 2004. If your house had a privacy fence that was located on a major street you were required to pay half the cost, approximately $ 350,000. Our assessments were suppose to cover this cost. The homeowners were told this will be a one time charge. The board is now asking the homeowners to pay for repairs on the privacy fences again which is IN VIOLATION of the Bylaws Section XXII, 12.01 (B)

12.01 Purpose of Assessments. The Assessments levied hereunder by the Association shall be used exclusively for the purpose of protecting and promoting the comfort, collective mutual enjoyment, health and welfare of the Owners, residents and tenants of the Property, including but not limited to, the following:
(a) The improvement, maintenance, repair or replacement of any and all common Area improvements, including, but not limited to, landscaped areas and easements, along with the cost of any associated management or supervisory services, fees, labor, equipment, and materials;

(b) The special maintenance, repair or replacement of improvements located in Common Areas, including the maintenance of privacy fences abutting a Major Street;

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE 4 CHILDREN THAT WERE ASKED TO LEAVE THEIR KARATE CLASS?
The Board and the Community Center personnel forced 4 children from attending Karate Classes which are held at the Community Center. This class was not full; they were current on payments and had been taking classes for over two years. They were told by the Board they could not come back to class. After four months of attempts by community members the children were allowed to attend class again. The children did nothing wrong and the action was sending the wrong message about our community. We have some very insensitive people on the Board, one of which still voted to ban the four children from participating even after hearing the community outcry for the injustice the Board’s decision resulted in. This vote was supposed to be in the minutes, which are not currently on the website.
DID YOU KNOW IF YOU ASK FOR INFORMATION ON A TOPIC THE BOARD WILL NOT GIVE YOU AN ANSWER OR MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE? THE BIG CONVENIENT BLACK HOLE WHICH IS CALLED “DICTATORSHIP”?
We have been going to the Board Meetings and following up with numerous emails to both the HOA staff and the Board for the last 30 days trying to get them to fix their broken communication and follow up system They have completely ignored us in the hopes that we will go away. WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE?
We can not get accurate up to day Meeting Minutes. The minutes of the meetings need to be posted in a timely manner so the people can respond. The minutes also need to be more informative on the details of the discussions to include the options discussed and the decision voted for and why. A listing of how each Board member voted should also be readily available, after all, they represent us not their own personal self-interests. An agenda needs to be posted in a timely manner prior to the meetings. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE FROM THEM.
We must get our rights back! Make the Board and HOA personnel accountable for their actions and misuse of funds. Stop the closed meetings by the board on their own personnel agenda. WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS? POWER!!!!!
