Looking to relocate to San Antonio, but my commute would be to Three Rivers. I would prefer not living in Corpus, but is the commute that long (over an hour)? I would also to like live in the West end of San Antonio, but is the area South of San Antonio decent? Thanks from a noob!

Decent is a relative term, so it's hard to know what you're looking for. What are you looking to spend and what would you like out of that?

If you're going to be working in Three Rivers, Corpus is an easier commute.

You might want to consider Pleasanton-South of SA or Floresville- SE of SA.

As mentioned, I'm not too keen on Corpus. $200,000 - 300,000 would be my range of spending.

I'll look in to those towns. Otherwise, I'm looking into the Southern part of SA. Is there anything good around there?

Go to realtor.com and search Pleasanton in the Oak Forrest subdivision. If you like country living on acreage homes sites yet have all of the stores close, this is the place. It's in your price range too. The airport is just minutes away along with the usual Walmart, restaurants, etc. That would put 3 Rivers about a 45 minute drive with almost no traffic congestion.

Yeah...I'm thinking Pleasanton is your best bet too.

Ok. I'm assuming Pleasonton it is. I would have prefered to be closer to the city or a newer subdivision South of the city, but from the replys, it appears that Pleasonton is the more suitable location.

There is a new subdivision on the south side of SA near the new Texas A&M campus but I can't think of the name. It's something Pond.....

Hope that's not Hunters Pond yer thinking of. That's a future ghetto.

There's also Floresville to look at. None of these towns are but just minutes from San Antonio. Floresville or Pleasanton you can be in SA in about 20 minutes. But you do get out of Bexar County politics and taxes. That alone is worth the drive.

I'd never live in South SA if I had to commute to 3R every day. Got to be a better solution.
